Save Rundes Modell Mocha Spoon by Josef Hoffman
JH01/9 A prominent member of the Viennese Secession, Josef Hoffmann is a renown architect who studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Karl Hasenauer and Otto Wagner in the early 1900's. In 1903, he founded the Wiener Werkst tte with Kolo Moser, where he would develop his signature design incorporating simple geometric shapes starting from the curvilinear language of the European Art Nouveau. Known for being the original developer of the ''principles of the total work of art,'' Josef Hoffmann would incorporate these ideals into original historic Alessi designs of 1906 such as the ''Rundes Modell'' Flatware. Presented for the first time at ''The Laid Table'' exhibit in Wienn (Vienna), this cutlery was definitely ahead of its time with its truly modern shape and design. Originally handmade in silver between 1910 and 1912, today this set is reproduced by Alessi in polished 18/10 stainless steel for durability and practicality. The contemporary form of the ''Rundes Modell'' Mocha Spoon reflects Hoffmann's search for ultimate functionality combined with extreme elegance utilizing the common materials and processes of the World War era.
